- Project Name
Automatic extraction and analysis of events of solar-terrestrial physics
- Motivation and Research Plan
Much of data have been accumulated from various kinds of observations on
the ground and in space in solar-terrestrial physics. Studies in this field
have been made by picking up special events and/or spatial structures occurred
in space from these enormous amount of accumulated data. Recently, as symbolized
by beginning of construction of the space station, space environment has
become important from practical@point of view. Now it is necessary to
nowcast or forecast state of space environment by quasi-instantaneous analysis
of real time data. This research subject aims to develop scheme for automatic
extraction of specified events or structures in solar-terrestrial physics
from long series of time sequential data and to utilize the results for
statistical analysis of quasi-real time nowcasting and forecasting.
